We just held our Hispanic Early Literacy Program Graduation We are excited to introduce a Little Library here at Hybla Valley! Patrols at Hybla Valley ES are thankful for their new gloves from Safe Routes to School. They will have toasty warm hands while out on duty this month! Our Kindergartners were visited by author Tracey Kyle. She read them her new book Food Fight Fiesta. On 1/22 our ESOL team held a Parent Information Night to share all the amazing things their students are learning. On 12/6 our staff dressed in plaid flannel to kick off our first day of the 12 Days of Cheer On 12/5 we held a food and clothing drive for our families in our community. Thank you to our parent and student volunteers and our school partner Colvin Run Elementary School Our community is thankful for the generosity of the Colvin Run Elementary School who were working to make sure everyone in our community has warm clothes and food this holiday season. We have an amazing group of parents here at Hybla Valley. Recently they were cooking up some pupusas for the teachers and staff! Kindergartners enjoying a Thanksgiving Lunch Mr. Caines was busy serving our students a delicious Thanksgiving Lunch Ms. Nordvall was busy serving out turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and other delicious Thanksgiving food to our KIndergartners On Veterans Day we honored the service of veterans with a Flag Raising Ceremony Veterans Day Flag Raising Ceremony We honor the service of our teachers who served, Mr. Lutter, Mr. Baughn, and Mr. Cunningham Fall Festival | So many great costumes and fun activities. Thank you PTO! 6th Grade Families came to a Family Night to learn about resources available to make students upstanding Digital Citizens. Today our ESOL Team was collaborating with Rich Pollio, Director of ESOL Services Parents, students, teachers, and administrators joined our Crossing Guard and Fairfax County Police to help our children walk and bike safely to school! This fall our students were learning bike safety and appreciating the fitness value of biking while in PE class.
