READING BY 3RD GRADE
Outcomes
● By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, we will see a 10% increase in students grades 1-3 demonstrating VDOE EL Progress Target in language acquisition based on the 2025 WIDA.
● In the 2024-2025 school year, the unadjusted pass rate for the 3rd Grade Reading SOL will increase by 10%.
Strategies
● Increase opportunities for English Language Development through use of embedded strategies during whole group instruction and intentional small group instruction focused on specific student needs.
● Increase intentional use of multisensory, visual, verbal, written and/or interactive scaffolds and supports in whole group settings.
● Leverage use of daily, explicit language comprehension lessons from the new core curriculum for building knowledge and vocabulary.
● Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that student demonstrating risk master foundational skills.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH
Outcomes
● Annual pass rates for Students with Disabilities in Grades 3-6 for Mathematics SOL will increase by ten percentage points.
● The percent of students (Grades 1-6) demonstrating expected screener within year growth in Math (iReady) will increase by ten percentage points.
Strategies
● Improve teachers’ implementation of Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction.
● Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.
● Increase students' self-efficacy around the ability to be successful in mathematics.
● Increase teachers’ content knowledge and implementation of the 2023 FCPS mathematics program of studies.
CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM
Outcomes
● By the end of SY 24-25, the rate of chronic absenteeism will decrease from 16.4% (SY 23-24) to 10%.
Strategies
● Schools will share multilingual attendance materials with families throughout the year to educate families regarding the importance of attendance for school success.
● Teachers will promote student engagement and create a welcoming classroom environment by modeling social and emotional competencies in their interactions with students.
SCIENCE
Outcomes
● By June 2025, 5th grade will reduce failure rate by 5% on the Science 5th grade SOL
Strategies
● Increase opportunities for students to develop and apply disciplinary literacy skills of reading, writing, critical thinking, and discourse.
