End of Year SMARTR Outcome

The number of students who are chronically absent from school for the 2019-20 school year will decrease by at least 10% over the 2018-2019 school year.

    Strategy 1

    • Build relationships and open communication between staff, students and families with specific strategies to improve our school attendance

    Strategy 2

    • Recess practices: cooperative games (weekly), recess circles, CLASP (Cooperative Learning And Structured Play) Cooperative games (Staff Google site, CLTs)

    Strategy 3

    • Identify students who would benefit by a check & connect staff member

    End of Year SMARTR Outcome

    The number of EL  students not making progress on the WIDA assessment will decrease by 10% at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

    Strategy 1

    • ESOL team has created Professional development focused on developing academic language to support our EL population which will be ongoing throughout the school year

    Strategy 2

    • Using can do descriptors to support the learning and monitoring of direct instruction of academic language. 

    Strategy 3

    • Using instructional strategies such as sentence stems, teacher modeling, attention to language growth across all 4 domains.

    End of Year SMARTR Outcome

    Kindergarten students will develop self regulation and social skills  as measured by the Child Behavior Rating Scale (CBRS) assessment. The number of students who did not make benchmark  in the fall of 2019 will decrease by 10% in the spring of 2020.

    Strategy 1

    • Specific routines and procedures will be used to support the growth of individual kindergarten needs regarding self regulation and social skills.

    Strategy 2

    • Recess practices: cooperative games (weekly), recess circles, CLASP (Cooperative Learning And Structured Play) Cooperative games (Staff Google site, CLTs)

    Strategy 3

    • Morning meeting (criteria)  - 90% of students participated in MM 90% of time
